MAHA TET

ಈ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ

MAHA TET (Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test) is a state-level eligibility test conducted by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE), Pune, to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as teachers for classes 1 to 8 in Maharashtra. It has two papers: Paper I for those who intend to teach classes 1 to 5, and Paper II for classes 6 to 8; a candidate may take either or both. Each paper is a 150-mark test of 150 multiple-choice questions in 150 minutes, with one mark per correct answer and no negative marking. Paper I covers Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies (30 questions each). Paper II covers Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, and either Mathematics & Science or Social Studies (60 marks). The paper is bilingual in Marathi and English and is grounded in the Maharashtra State Board (Balbharati) curriculum. Candidates who score 60% or more qualify (55% for reserved categories), and the MAHA TET certificate is valid for a lifetime.

ಅರ್ಹತೆ

For Paper I: senior secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed / D.Ed) or equivalent, as per NCTE norms. For Paper II: a graduate degree with a relevant teacher-education qualification (B.Ed / D.El.Ed as applicable). Conducted by MSCE, historically once a year (recent cycles: 23 November 2025). Notification and registration typically open a couple of months before the test.
