Single bilingual 100-question General Ability paper (60 min) with GS at 80 questions: polity is heaviest at 16 with direct constitutional-article testing, current affairs runs to 17 questions from the 2024-25 window, and around 12 match-the-pairs sets appear. Aptitude plus reasoning shrink to 20 questions and include three printed-figure non-verbal items. Maharashtra-specific share is about 19-21% of GS and overall difficulty skews easy-medium.
Strongly GS-weighted split: 65 GS plus 15 general science against only 20 aptitude-reasoning questions (60 min, neg 0.25). Current affairs (19) and polity (15) lead, multi-statement combination items dominate history and polity, and 7-8 match-the-pairs sets appear across GS. Biology carries most of the science block, and Maharashtra-specific content is about 15% of GS.
Pure language paper: 50 Marathi + 50 English, 200 marks in 60 minutes with 0.25 negative marking and no GS section. Marathi is grammar-led (sentence construction, word classes, prayog, samas, plus three comprehension passages); English is grammar-dominant with 8 error-spotting and 8 fill-in-the-blanks items and one reading passage. Difficulty sits mostly at medium, with hard items in sandhi and rhetorical-device questions.
A balanced bilingual GS paper rather than a polity monolith: science leads at 19 questions, followed by polity 15, history 12, current affairs 11, geography 10 and economy 10, plus a named 2-question RTI Act set and a distinct 12-question quant block where data interpretation (5) spans pictograph, pie and bar charts. Multi-statement and match-pairs formats cover roughly 40% of GA, with Maharashtra strongest in geography (about 70%) and history (about half).
Follows the combined-prelims template seen across the 2021-2025 cycle: a single bilingual 100-question General Ability paper (60 min, neg 0.25) that is GS-dominant with a small arithmetic-plus-reasoning tail of roughly 15-20 questions. Multi-statement and match-the-pairs formats recur throughout, with a clear Maharashtra emphasis in history, geography and polity.
Same 50:50 Marathi-English language-only design that 2023 and 2025 followed: 100 questions, 200 marks in 60 minutes, no General Awareness component. Marathi leans on grammar classification with comprehension support, English on grammar, vocabulary and error-based formats, all as uniform 4-option MCQs.
Law-dominated bilingual paper: 46 of 100 questions test statutes (Maharashtra Police Act 11, IPC 10, CrPC 10, Evidence Act 10), mostly section-number identification and match-the-pairs items, with another 20 on Maharashtra geography and reform history. Reasoning plus arithmetic total only 15 questions. Roughly 35-40% of the GK block is Maharashtra-specific and difficulty skews hard.
Bilingual 100-question, 200-mark paper where the 85-question GA block leans hard on the tax-inspector profile: current affairs 24 and economy 18 lead, backed by a dedicated 5-question tax-law set (GST model, subsumed taxes, VAT versus GST) and 5 on planning, with history and geography almost entirely Maharashtra-specific for a roughly 30% state share. The opening 15-question reasoning block has no easy items and mixes tabular and bar-chart data interpretation with passage inference and multi-premise puzzles.
Overwhelmingly a constitution paper: polity takes 52 of the 85 GA questions, centred on the Indian Constitution, Parliament, judiciary and Panchayati Raj with Maharashtra local bodies, while history is almost wholly Maharashtra reformers and geography entirely Maharashtra-specific, putting the state share near 30% of GA. The 15-question reasoning-quant head skews hard (6 of 15) with critical-argument analysis, data sufficiency and non-verbal odd-one-out, and neither RTI nor computer awareness appears anywhere.
Evenly balanced 85-question GS core (history 16, geography 15, economy 15, science 15, current affairs 15, polity 9) plus a compact 15-question aptitude-reasoning block. Multi-statement combination items make up about 40% of GS and match-the-pairs about 15%. Maharashtra share runs high at roughly 23% of GS, led by local governance, irrigation geography and social-reform history.
Follows the classic PSI Paper 2 template that 2022 exemplifies: a bilingual 100-question, 200-mark paper in 60 minutes pairing a small reasoning-arithmetic block with a large GK-plus-law section built around the Maharashtra Police Act, IPC, CrPC and the Evidence Act. Maharashtra geography, polity and human-rights statutes carry substantial weight, with match-the-pairs and multi-statement formats recurring.
The most economy-dominated paper in the set: 29 of 85 GA questions cover trade, globalisation, WTO, FDI, poverty and infrastructure, flanked by twin 7-question tax-law (GST rollout, service tax history, tax-reform committees) and accounting (deficit types, revenue versus capital expenditure, Finance Commission) blocks. The unlabelled 15-question reasoning tail is the hardest stretch, with zero easy items and unusual formats such as passage inference, multi-constraint seating and non-verbal matrices.
Earliest paper in this set and the same core design that later years retained: one bilingual 100-question General Ability paper in 60 minutes with 0.25 negative marking, GS carrying the bulk and a short arithmetic-reasoning block at the end. Expect direct factual MCQs alongside multi-statement and match-the-pairs items, with Maharashtra-focused history, geography and polity throughout.
