The most science-heavy paper of the current format: 22 of 100 questions came from General Science, ahead of Polity at 19 and History at 16. Polity leaned on constitutional framing and the Union executive. Format was unusually demanding, with 41 multi-statement questions and 17 match-the-pairs, so only 38 questions were plain single-correct. Difficulty sat firmly in the middle band (80 medium, 15 easy, 5 hard). Around 12 questions turned on Maharashtra-specific knowledge. MPSC later dropped about six questions in the final key after the objection window.

Comprehension dominated, as it does every year: 35 of 80 questions came from bilingual comprehension passages, delivered as sets of five. Questions 41 to 45 were a Marathi-only passage and 46 to 50 an English-only passage, neither cross-translated. Reasoning was the strongest it has been at 19 questions, numeracy stayed light at 6, and a single numeric caselet supplied 5 data-interpretation questions. Decision Making and Problem Solving occupied questions 76 to 80 under its own printed heading and carried no negative marking. Only 4 per cent of the paper rated hard.

The most balanced paper of the four we analysed. General Science still led with 19 questions but History and Geography were close behind at 16 each, and Environment was at its strongest with 9. Economics dipped to 10. The format mix was typical: 53 single-correct, 35 multi-statement, 10 match-the-pairs. This was also the gentlest paper on difficulty, with 24 easy questions. Twelve questions were Maharashtra-specific.

An even more reading-led paper than 2026: 44 of 80 questions came from bilingual comprehension sets, including an extra passage set later in the paper at questions 66 to 69. Questions 41 to 45 were the Marathi-only passage and 46 to 50 the English-only passage. Reasoning was lighter at 12 questions and numeracy at 7, and this paper carried no chart or table data interpretation at all, which is worth knowing: data interpretation is optional in this exam, not guaranteed. Decision Making and Problem Solving again sat at questions 76 to 80 with no negative marking.

By a clear margin the hardest paper of the current format: 27 of 100 questions rated hard against a four-year average of 14. Economics spiked to 17 questions, its highest in our sample, while General Science held its usual lead at 21. The paper also ran heavy on multi-statement questions at 44, meaning fewer than half the questions were plain single-correct. Anyone calibrating preparation to 2023 or 2026 alone would find this paper a shock; treat it as the upper bound of what MPSC can set.

The first paper set under the combined gazetted format, and the template the later papers follow. General Science led at 22 questions, with Polity, History and current affairs level at 15 each and Environment lightest at 6. The format was the least demanding of the four, with 54 single-correct questions, and difficulty was moderate at 11 hard. Thirteen questions were Maharashtra-specific, the highest in our sample.
