No Krushi Sevak Bharti 2026 advertisement exists as of 20 September 2026, and the last confirmed exam was January 2024. Here is the real 140-question pattern and a 10-week plan.

As of 20 September 2026, no advertisement has been issued for Krushi Sevak Bharti 2026. The last confirmed sitting was on 16 and 19 January 2024, against divisional advertisements dated 11 August 2023 for about 2,100 posts. The "12 to 31 August 2026" application window circulating online is the 2023 page with the date changed.
Krushi Sevak is the village-level agriculture extension post of the Maharashtra Krushi Vibhag. Each of the 8 Divisional Joint Directors of Agriculture advertises separately on one statewide pattern, and IBPS conducts the online CBT. Verify dates yourself at krishi.maharashtra.gov.in: on 20 September 2026 the newest document there is a contract Legal Officer advertisement dated 16 September 2026. Vacancy tables online also disagree with the primary advertisements for Pune and Latur.
The written examination is one online CBT of 140 questions for 200 marks in 120 minutes. Every question carries five options and there is no negative marking.
| Section | Questions | Marks each | Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marathi | 20 | 1 | 20 |
| English | 20 | 1 | 20 |
| General Knowledge | 20 | 1 | 20 |
| Intelligence Test | 20 | 1 | 20 |
| Agriculture | 60 | 2 | 120 |
| Total | 140 | 200 |
Agriculture is 60 of the 140 questions but 120 of the 200 marks: 43 per cent by count, 60 per cent by weight. The official syllabus annexure pitches it at agriculture diploma level and lists 9 groups holding 60 numbered sub-items, one per question.
Those groups are not examined equally. We classified all 1000 questions of the MahaPariksha shift papers of 13 and 14 March 2018, 601 of them agriculture, into those same groups. Examiners diverge sharply from the syllabus, so the table carries both, plus the blended weight we build our own papers to.
| Agriculture group | Syllabus | Measured 2018 | Blended | Of 60 questions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Soil science: pH, soil water, tillage | 8% | 13.0% | 11% | 6 to 7 |
| Land and water conservation, manures | 10% | 18.3% | 14% | 8 to 9 |
| Crop production, pest control | 15% | 24.5% | 20% | 12 |
| Allied: mushroom, sericulture | 7% | 1.3% | 5% | 3 |
| Nursery, orchards: bahar, pruning | 17% | 13.3% | 15% | 9 |
| Vegetables and floriculture | 12% | 9.3% | 11% | 6 to 7 |
| Extension, schemes, farm laws | 17% | 10.8% | 14% | 8 to 9 |
| Farm finance, credit appraisal | 8% | 4.2% | 6% | 3 to 4 |
| Agricultural marketing | 7% | 1.0% | 4% | 2 to 3 |
Another 4.3 per cent of those items fit no single group.
Two things follow. The agronomy family, groups 1 to 3, is where questions concentrate: 55.8 per cent of the 2018 agriculture block against 33 per cent by syllabus. And horticulture, groups 5 and 6 together, is the largest single area at 26 per cent, which both sources agree on. Extension, finance, marketing and allied enterprises are the starved end: 17.3 per cent measured against 39 per cent by syllabus.
Now the limit, plainly. Those papers predate both the current syllabus and the current 140-question pattern, so they show examiner habit, not a guarantee about the next paper. That is why the fourth column blends the two and holds the syllabus share as a floor, so no group is left uncovered. Study to the blended column, not to the 2018 one, and read neither as a 2026 blueprint.
Notice what is absent: no animal husbandry, no veterinary science, no plant breeding theory, no biotechnology. Across those 1000 classified questions there is exactly 1 animal husbandry item. A list carrying neurophysiology is an ICAR postgraduate topic from another exam.
The four common sections carry 20 questions each at 1 mark, so 80 of the 200 marks, pitched at SSC (Class 10) level.
Give agriculture roughly 2 hours for every 1 hour on the common block. The marks ratio is 120 to 80, that is 1.5 to 1, and the extra tilt is earned by level: the common block is SSC (Class 10) work, agriculture alone is diploma work. Order the groups by the blended weight above and move to full 140-question mocks in the last 3 weeks.
| Phase | Agriculture | Common block |
|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1 to 3 | Groups 1 to 3: soil, land and water, crop production, 45 per cent of the block | 45 minutes daily on grammar |
| Weeks 4 to 6 | Horticulture, groups 5 and 6: nursery, orchards, vegetables, flowers, 26 per cent | 45 minutes daily on arithmetic and reasoning |
| Weeks 7 to 8 | Extension, finance, marketing, 24 per cent; allied enterprises in 2 short sittings, 5 per cent | Current affairs; 2 full mocks a week |
| Weeks 9 to 10 | Revision of weak sub-items | Formula revision; 3 full mocks a week |
Note the split: allied enterprises get 2 sittings rather than a block, at 5 per cent of the blended weight, while horticulture gets 3 full weeks as the largest single area.
Krushi Sevak requires an Agriculture Diploma, an Agriculture degree or a higher agriculture qualification from a statutory university. It is not a 10+2 post, so any page offering a 10+2 Agriculture route is wrong. Under the 2023 advertisements, final-year candidates could not apply.
Most avoidable losses come from the wrong document. Several free sites still publish a retired 200-question template of 80 common and 120 agriculture questions. That template describes the 2018 papers; the switch to 140 questions cannot be dated more closely than between 2015 and 2023.
The fastest way to find your gaps is a full paper under the real rules, then drilling to the blended weights above. Start with the free starter series, move to full-length mocks, work weak groups in the sectional tests, or browse our exams page.

No. As of 20 September 2026 no Krushi Sevak advertisement exists for a 2026 cycle. The newest recruitment document on the Maharashtra Agriculture Department portal is dated 16 September 2026 and is for a contract Legal Officer post. The widely posted 12 to 31 August 2026 application window is a re-dated copy of the 2023 page, and the last confirmed exam was held on 16 and 19 January 2024.
The exam is one online computer based test of 140 questions for 200 marks in 120 minutes, conducted by IBPS. Marathi, English, General Knowledge and Intelligence Test carry 20 questions each at 1 mark, while the agriculture section carries 60 questions at 2 marks each, worth 120 marks. Every question has five options and there is no negative marking.
Yes. The statutory recruitment rules require an Agriculture Diploma, an Agriculture degree or a higher agriculture qualification from a statutory university, so this is not a 10+2 post. Candidates studying in the final year of the qualifying course were not eligible under the 2023 divisional advertisements. Age in that cycle ran from 19 to 38 for open candidates and 19 to 43 for backward classes, plus a blanket 2 year relaxation for advertisements published up to 31 December 2023 that lifted those ceilings to 40 and 45.
No. The conducting agency's information handout states plainly that there is no penalty for a wrong answer, and the divisional advertisement carries no deduction clause. You should therefore attempt all 140 questions and leave nothing blank. Because each question offers five options, eliminating two or three of them before guessing turns even a weak question into a positive expectation.
A candidate must score at least 45 per cent, which is 90 of the 200 marks, to be included in the merit list. That is only the entry bar, because selection happens on the merit list itself, which is built on computer based test marks alone.
