Karnataka State Exams
2 examsKarnataka Armed Police Constable
Karnataka Armed Police Constable recruitment by the Karnataka State Police, covering the Armed Police Constable (CAR/DAR) and Special Reserve Police Constable (KSRP, KSISF and IRB) posts - 3,914 posts across four notifications in the 2026-27 drive. A single written examination of 100 objective questions for 100 marks in 90 minutes, offline OMR, one mark per question with 0.25 deducted for a wrong answer. The paper is one undivided General Studies booklet covering general knowledge, science, geography, history, the Constitution of India, the national freedom movement, mental ability and moral education, printed in Kannada and English on the same page. The written exam is the stage that counts toward merit; the Physical Standard Test and Endurance Test that follow are qualifying. IMPORTANT ABOUT THE TABLE BELOW: the real paper declares NO sections and prints no per-subject counts. The split shown here is the measured subject WEIGHTING of 600 questions across six real armed papers, which is what our mocks reproduce; it is a guide to what to study, not a claim that the booklet is divided. Note also that the armed paper is NOT the civil constable paper: it carries more general awareness and more Karnataka content, a markedly heavier and more volatile science block, and a smaller mental-ability section.
Karnataka Civil Police Constable
Karnataka Civil Police Constable (CPC) recruitment by the Karnataka State Police - 3,991 posts in the 2026 drive, against 3,90,715 applications. A single written examination of 100 objective questions for 100 marks in 90 minutes, offline OMR, one mark per question with 0.25 deducted for a wrong answer, and a minimum of 30 marks to qualify. The paper is one undivided General Studies booklet covering general knowledge, science, geography, history, the Constitution of India, the national freedom movement, mental ability and moral education, printed in Kannada and English on the same page. The written exam is the only stage that counts toward merit: the Physical Standard Test and Endurance Test that follow it carry no marks. Note one 2026 change that costs marks: the OMR sheet now has a fifth circle meaning 'not attempted', and a question left entirely blank is penalised 0.25 unless that circle is shaded. IMPORTANT ABOUT THE TABLE BELOW: the real paper declares NO sections and prints no per-subject counts, and several published 'section tables' for this exam (a 25-mark language block, a 20-mark English block) describe questions the paper does not contain. The split shown here is the measured subject WEIGHTING of 700 questions across the seven real Civil Police Constable papers we read, which is what our mocks reproduce; it is a guide to what to study, not a claim that the booklet is divided.

CDS
The CDS (Combined Defence Services) Examination is a national-level entrance test conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) twice a year to recruit graduates as officers into the Indian Military Academy, the Indian Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy and the Officers Training Academy. It has two tracks. Candidates for the IMA, INA and AFA take three papers (English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics), each of 100 marks in two hours, for a total of 300 marks. Candidates for the OTA take only two papers (English and General Knowledge), for a total of 200 marks, with no Mathematics paper. Every question is multiple choice with four options; the papers carry one-third negative marking. The English paper is at graduate level, the General Knowledge paper covers history, geography, polity, economics, general science, current affairs and defence, and the Elementary Mathematics paper is at the matriculation (class 10) level, which makes it easier than the NDA Mathematics paper. The papers are set in English and Hindi except the English paper. Candidates who clear the written examination are called for a separate five-day SSB Interview of 300 marks, and the final merit is based on the written plus interview total.
