The 2023 Std 8 Paper 1 held 75 questions for 150 marks in 90 minutes: 25 Marathi (First Language) and 50 Mathematics, 2 marks each with no negative marking. Marathi was grammar and vocabulary led, with a short poetry comprehension cluster and about four literature and general-knowledge items. Mathematics leaned heavily on geometry and mensuration (roughly 12 and 7 questions), followed by algebra and number operations, with a small statistics and bar-graph set. About nine questions across the paper used the MSCE two-correct-options format.
The 2023 Std 8 Paper 2 held 75 questions for 150 marks in 90 minutes: 25 English (Third Language) and 50 Intelligence Test, 2 marks each with no negative marking. English was reading-comprehension heavy (about six to eight questions across passage clusters) plus vocabulary, word puzzles and standard grammar. The Intelligence Test was broad: analogy, classification, three kinds of series, coding, number riddles and a large non-verbal share (around fifteen figure-based items: mirror and water images, figure series, counting figures, paper folding). About eleven questions used the two-correct-options format.
The 2022 Std 8 Paper 1 followed the same 75-question, 150-mark, 90-minute shape: 25 Marathi and 50 Mathematics. Marathi carried two comprehension clusters (a prose and a poetry passage) plus wide grammar coverage and two literature GK items. Mathematics was again geometry and mensuration dominant (about 13 and 11 questions) with algebra, number operations, percentage and profit-loss, and a small statistics set using a table and a bar graph. About nine questions used the two-correct-options format.
The 2022 Std 8 Paper 2 kept the 25 English + 50 Intelligence Test structure. English opened with two reading passages (about nine comprehension questions in total), then word puzzles, grammar transformation and vocabulary, with several items built on visual stimuli (email, website, clock). The Intelligence Test spread across classification, series, analogy, coding, number riddles and a strong non-verbal block (about fifteen figure items). Around ten questions used the two-correct-options format.
