About this exam
RRB Junior Engineer (JE) recruitment by the Railway Recruitment Boards for engineering posts on the Indian Railways. Selection is a two-stage computer-based test plus Document Verification and Medical. The First Stage CBT (100 marks, 90 minutes) is qualifying and screens candidates (15 times the vacancy) for the Second Stage. The Second Stage CBT (150 marks, 120 minutes) decides merit and includes a discipline-specific Technical Abilities section of 100 questions alongside common sections in General Awareness, Physics and Chemistry, Basics of Computers and Applications, and Basics of Environment and Pollution Control. Both stages carry a one-third negative mark.
Eligibility
A diploma or degree in the relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent) as specified for the post, within the prescribed age limit with relaxations per government norms. Exact educational and age criteria vary by post and are set in the RRB JE notification.
